1950s — Redwood Greenhouses Begin in Portland, Oregon

Our story takes root in a small Portland orchid nursery, where founder Harold Fleck set out to create greenhouses that were built to last—timeless, functional, and beautiful.

1968 — A New Chapter of Craftsmanship

The Warner family purchased Sturdi Built Greenhouse and committed to handcrafting greenhouse kits with the highest-quality redwood available.

The original nursery was transformed into a dedicated woodshop, where every greenhouse continued to be built with care and precision.

1990s–2010s — Evolving With Purpose

As greenhouse styles and customer needs evolved, so did our designs. Subtle engineering improvements and new model offerings expanded our ability to serve customers across climates and growing styles—without ever compromising on quality.

2018 – Still Family-Owned, Still Handcrafted Greenhouses

The Seibert family purchased Sturdi Built from the Warners, continuing the legacy as a small, family-run business. Today, we remain deeply involved in daily operations, proudly building every greenhouse right here in our Portland woodshop.

“Every greenhouse we build is a piece of our family’s story, handcrafted for yours.”
